BrailleQuest Program

  • Build Braille through consistent, sequential instruction - Training should move from foundational tactile skills and symbol recognition to words, contractions, formatting, and fluent functional reading and writing.
  • Connect Braille instruction to real-life use - Customers should practice Braille in meaningful activities such as labeling household items, reading schedules, identifying personal information, and writing notes.
  • Use hands-on tools to strengthen literacy and independence - Instruction should include practical use of tools such as the Perkins Brailler, slate and stylus, and other Braille materials to support everyday access and communication.
